Sue has over 24 years' experience in vocational experience, most recently previously holding the position of Executive Director of Education at The Gordon. Sue's passion is enhancing the lives of students through innovation, flexible and quality education.
She has a unique and comprehensive understanding of the sector through leading education portfolios including delivery program areas, quality and governance teams and this experiencesleads to delivering successful student outcomes.
Sue is the executive sponsor for the BHI Education Framework, strategic project. A project that is essential at looking at our sector landscape, student demands, and State and Federal policy to establish key growth areas and define what makes BHI stand out as an education provider.

On this episode, we are talking to members of the Teaching & Learning Enhancement Team about Universal Design and the Accessibility Hub.
Joining us, is Annemaree Gibson & Annie Carney, Teaching & Learning Specialists on the team.
Annemaree has been with BHI for over 12 years, with a Masters Degree focused in Adult Education. She is passionate about applied research and was published in 2018 about the blended model of distance education.
Annie has been with BHI for over 4 years. Her background as a teacher, learning designer, editor and software tester has informed her interest in accessibility and universal design for learning. She is a member of the national advisory committee for the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET).
In 2021, Annemaree and Annie received a grant from WAVE / Sue Salthouse for research into gender and disability.

Welcome to this very special episode of BHI In Focus, we are talking to our newly appointed Executive Director Student Experience, Hemant Kokularupan.
Hemant comes to BHI with a wealth of vocational educational knowledge, whichincludes working at Bendigo Kangan, Chisholm, Swinburne and Monash Universities. He has worked in a number of leadership roles in the sector in a varied areas including Business Intelligence, Student Experience, Student Success, and Quality.
If you haven't had a chance to encounter Hemant's smiling face around the campus, don't worry his positivity and enthusiasm is infectious and can be spotted a mile away.

On this episode, we are talking to Executive Director of Educational Delivery,Jane Trewin.
Jane has over 20 years’ experience in teaching and management for thevocational sector. She has spent over five of these years at Box Hill Institute. Jane has driven the development and delivery of innovative, flexible, customer-focused and customised education and training programs across a range of industries anddisciplines. She provides leadership and guidance to the Faculty Deans. 
Jane is an award-winning teacher and business owner, and was inducted into theHall of Fame for Hairdressing for her contribution to the industry.
Jane, is joining us to talk about the Digital and Care focus of Education Delivery and we are delighted to welcome you, Jane, to BHI In Focus.

On this episode we are talking to Ashley Van Krieken, Director of the Yarra Ranges Tech School and the staff  member of the BHI board. 
Since April 2019, Ashley has been director of the Yarra Ranges Tech School and the passion and love he has for the diverse range of programs the team runs is well known to anyone that has had the fortune of having a conversation with him.
With a background in geoscience and a diverse working background across a number of sectors including economic analysis, manufacturing, minerals and resources, and of course, education, Ashleyhas a thirst for sharing knowledge and is a strong collaborator across the institute and within the community.
Through his current work with his team at the Yarra Ranges Tech School, they are always looking at ways to incorporate the development and adoption of new technologies, innovations and processes to improve and enhance the existing systems and structures.

In this episode we are talking with Sarah Eldridge. Sarah is an adolescent mental health and youth worker with over twenty years experience. Her areas of passion include working with the homeless, at-risk young people and working with youth that are disengaged from main-stream education.
She is currently working as an educator in the Community Health courses at Box Hill Institute. 
Her passion for the sector is evident with how she instills this with her student cohort, teaching them to hone in on the skills that would make them best-practice workers.
Her authentic, genuine teaching style attracted a nomination from her students and a win in 2019 for the Teacher of the Year award in the Staff Achievement & Recognition Program.

Luke's passion for collaboration and bringing exciting community programs to life is evident in any conversation with him, so this is a brilliant opportunity to learn more and see how we are really changing lives in this space.

On this episode, we are talking about Skills and Jobs. A conversation like this can't happen without someone like Melinda Davis, Program Coordinator in the Employment Initiatives Team at Box Hill Institute's Skills and Jobs Centre and Apprenticeship Support Officer programs.
Since February 2016, Mel has mentored and managed people, supported government initiatives and programs, make connections with the community and build a provision of career services.
Mel and her team at the Skills and Jobs Centre provide expert advice on training and employment opportunities, also engage with local industries to ensure they can meet the needs of their local communities.

Aggie Kost, Executive Director of People, Culture & Transformation sits down with us to talk about the Box Hill Institute values. 
Beginning her journey with Box Hill Institute in December 2019, Aggie leads the People, Culture & Transformation teams which consists of Human Resources, Organisational Development & Change, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Internal Communications and Transformation.
With a self-confessed passion for culture and people, Aggie's background is in a deep understanding of organisational development, coaching, developing top talent, mentoring and leading teams.
Aggie is a registered Psychologist, an accredited Executive Coach, uses these skills to lead Box Hill Institute in this period of cultural change and transformation, so we are on track to accomplish our 2024 Strategic Goals.

This episode, we are joined by Box Hill Institute's Associate Director of Internal Communication, Samantha Little, who is discussing the 'why' for BHI In Focus, and our internal podcast. 
Samantha oversees the flow of internal communications within the institute from the content on OurSpace and leadership messages to the delivery of the monthly newsletter, People Talk. She is passionate about transforming and developing engaging communications campaigns, that add value to BHI's overall business strategy. 
Samantha has a degree in journalism, media and communications from Deakin University, and has been at BHI since April 2019.
